José Ignacio Carlos Esteban is a gay Mexican-American mixed media artist from Denton, Texas. His art education began in the sixth grade and concluded in the twelfth grade. Jose developed his foundational artistic skills during his public school art education by working with different mediums such as acrylic, ink, charcoal, clay, and more. Since 2023, José has taken a psychological approach to his art. Inspired by mental well-being, his art is an intense but calm focus on creating movement using lines, layers, and textures. His day-to-day studies focus on understanding the mind, while his art translates the gentle practice of bringing his mind back to the present over and over again. Jose’s mission is to encourage mental wellness, one artwork at a time.
